It Was My Daughters.
Raised to Lead
Raised to Lead exists to spotlight the powerful and often unseen influence of fathers and male allies in shaping future women leaders. Fathers create the earliest environment where daughters experience safety, confidence, discipline, and empowerment.
This platform celebrates these stories and elevates the truth that leadership starts at home – through values passed down, doors opened, and character formed long before the world notices.
What We Do
Our Origin
Raised to Lead was established by Corazon and Lavender, whose personal experiences inspired the creation of a movement that honors the foundational role fathers play in shaping daughters who lead.
Our Reach.
Raised to Lead
Raised to Lead
Raised to Lead honors the quiet, powerful moments where leadership first takes root often in the presence of a caring father or a supportive male ally. It is in these early relationships that daughters learn they are safe, valued, and capable of becoming more than the world may expect of them. Through encouragement, guidance, and belief, fathers help shape confidence, strength, and purpose, planting the seeds that allow girls to rise into courageous and empowered women leaders.

Fathers as the Bedrock of Belief: Safety & Self- Awareness
"Fathers consistently remind us that home is and will always be a safe space."
This foundational safety allows for the development of profound self-awareness. As Lolem shared, her father made each sibling feel uniquely special, not by having a favorite, but by understanding and nurturing their individual personalities.
"Self-awareness is the beginning of being your authentic self." – Lolem Ngong
This paternal belief instils a core confidence.
“I roll in with the Messiah’s confidence thanks to my father.”

Our Stories
Our Stories
When my mother delivered her third girl, a relative was dispatched to the hospital to check if it was a boy this time. When the person went back to report to my grandmother, it is reported that she said, “There is no child there, just another ogwang.” Ogwang, in the tongue of our people, is a wild cat. It’s an animal that lives in the bush, eats from the bush, and belongs to the bush. If you see an ogwang, you don’t take a photo of it—you throw a stone at it. That’s what we were in the eyes of my extended family.
